You love the
moon. You look up at it constantly. One night, after our date and I dropped
you off, you sat on your driveway, hugged your knees, and stared up at
the moon. That was the cutest thing I had ever seen anyone do. I wish I
had a camera. Now, every night, I look up at the sky, just to see the moon.
Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. But when it's out against
the dark sky, it looks so pretty. I like to think that when the moon's
shining it means that you're at home, in your room, thinking of me. Before
I met you, I never noticed the moon. Now I think the moon is one of the
prettiest things in the sky.
You love dragons
too. Your ICQ name is Dragon, which I look for every night in hopes that
you'll come on. You painted me a beautiful canvas with a green dragon.
You drew me a green dragon on the manila envelope that you gave me for
Christmas containing the Forever and NudeyBoy drawings. You're an excellent
artist, drawing booklets and paintings for every single event at school
your senior year. You shadowed a painter and took first place at the 1998
Youth Calendar Competition. I still have the newspaper article and calendar.
The Forever drawing has to be my absolute favorite gift, from anyone. Simply
looking at it warms my heart. Every thing your hands touch becomes beautiful.
You like aliens
too. I couldn't win you one at Great America, though I tried very hard.
But I was able to win one eventually, which you named Fredrique. It sits
on one of your dressers, watching over you.
Silver is your favorite color. Silver for the moon.
Silver for the pinky ring you gave me at Navy Pier on the Fourth of July.
Silver for the other ring you gave me at Great America. Silver for the
sparkle in your eyes.
The first nickname I gave you was Puppy. It seemed to fit you because of
your actions...the way your puppy eyes would stare into mine, the way you'd
sniff my shirt as we walked through the halls of Conant, the way you always
loved to cuddle, and I guess because you liked to lick me. :)
But having a dog as a nickname was a little strange, so I had to abandon
it and take Honey instead, which fits you even better cuz you're nothing
but pure sweetness.
Most of all, I love you. I always
have, and I always will.
